If you’ve spent any time at Mission Solar Energy, chances are you’ve seen Berlinda Teran in action—checking in with teams, leading safety briefings, and making sure everyone goes home safe and sound. Berlinda was hired back in December 2013 as our very first production team member, and today she serves as our dedicated Safety Coordinator.
With 18 years of experience at Sony Semiconductor under her belt, Berlinda brought a deep understanding of how technology and people intersect on the production floor. Her expertise and passion for safety have helped shape a workplace culture where well-being and communication go hand in hand.
A typical day for Berlinda involves a bit of everything: morning briefings, inspections, audits, and ongoing conversations with team members about why safety matters. She also keeps a strong focus on mental health and wellness—because to her, safety isn’t just physical, it’s emotional too.
“What I enjoy most is creating a positive impact by solving safety challenges and reducing injuries,” she says. “When employees feel safe and valued, it builds stronger connections across the company.”
Berlinda says her nearly 12-year journey at Mission Solar has been both rewarding and meaningful. “I’ve had the chance to work in an environment that aligns with my values,” she explains. “It’s given me a sense of purpose I truly cherish.”
Outside of work, Berlinda loves spending time with her family, especially her husband, children, and her three great-grandbabies. She also enjoys solo time—whether it’s shopping, watching Hallmark movies, or diving into a good love story like Pride and Prejudice.
Her favorite piece of advice? “Encouragement and support are important—share them!”
